From a recent article ran in the Downey Patroit, the owners of the Newville house are stating they are being harrassed and people are taking photos through their windows, etc. This is NOT cool! If you are outraged by all this, please go through the proper channels. Stalking and harrassement will not help the cause, only further theirs to demolish the home! |
It's hard to believe, but the Newville house, former home of The Carpenters will be torn down! Many Carpenters fans are outraged by this. Downey, Ca. should have made this a landmark in their small town. It's still visited after all these years. But unfortunately, the current owners had a yard sale to sell furniture and garden items that once belonged to Karen and Richard. The fans would have loved to see this home protected against it's tragic end that will be coming in a matter of weeks.
You can read more information regarding this in the recent article ran in The Downey Patriot. There are email address available to hopefully save this house. Try writing them and voicing your outrage over this.
Please write the council or email the Patriot. Let them know we don't want to loose another landmark.
